MACC Secures Five Day Remand For Warisan’s Veep Peter Anthony

The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) has secured a five-day remand order against Parti Warisan Sabah vice-president Peter Anthony and local businessman Yu Sin Kong.

The duo were arrested yesterday evening at the Sabah MACC headquarters when they appeared to have their statements recorded. Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie presided the remand proceedings, effective today, following an application by the MACC.

The duo arrived at the court premises in handcuffs and clad in orange T-shirts with the word “Lokap” emblazoned on them. They were taken directly by MACC officers into Stephanie’s chambers.

Some 100 Warisan supporters gathered at the Kota Kinabalu court complex in the morning to greet Peter.

Peter was represented by Martin Tommy, Loretto Padua Jr and Cedric Choo while Edward Paul appeared for Yu.
