Datuk Seri Musa Aman today presented a special allocation of RM10 million to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens in the state.
He said that special provision was included in the special allocation of RM53 million this year to the NGOs through the Sabah Community Development and Consumer Affairs Ministry.
He said that if the special provisions met the target, he was determined to increase the amount for next year.
“I believe such allocation is very useful and beneficial to target groups.
“Hence, the ministry always strives to ensure that every special allocation provided by the government will meet its targets,” he said this at the presentation of the special allocation to NGOs for PWDs and senior citizens under the Social Welfare Department in Sandakan, today.
Of the total of RM10 million, NGOs for PWDs and senior citizens would receive allocation of RM5 million each.
He also hoped that people who needed assistance would continue to receive aid from such provision.
He also expressed his appreciation on the commitment from the State Community Development and Consumer Affairs Ministry in the efforts to help deliver provisions to the target groups in the state.
