Twenty- eight illegals were detained in an integrated operation at three squatter colonies in Sandakan, Wednesday.
Sandakan District Police chief ACP Zabidi Mohd Zain said they were Philippine nationals comprising 17 males, including three toddlers and eight women, including a child.
“They were detained for not having valid identification documents during the operation which started at 2 am,” he said today.
Meanwhile in Tawau, the Malaysian Immigration Department detained 20 illegals in two separate operations which was carried out in cooperation with the Eastern Sabah Security Command yesterday.
Tawau Immigration Department chief, Noraini Rasi said 11 were Indonesians and the rest were Filipinos, aged 18 to 51 years.
