Up To Ministry Of Domestic Trade To Announce Weekly Fuel Prices - Rahman Dahlan

The government has left it to the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) to decide the need to announce the change in fuel prices, especially petrol and diesel, every week.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan said this was to avoid speculation over the prices among the people.

“I have asked the cabinet if it was necessary for the government to officially announce the changes in fuel prices each week as the public are already aware of the formula being used,” he said in reply to Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim (BN-Kuala Selangor) during question and answer session in the Dewan Rakyat, Thursday.

From March 29, the government through KPDNKK had implemented the weekly controlled floating method for fixing the retail price of petrol and diesel and the price changes were announced through the ministry’s official website and Facebook page.
