Putatan UMNO members have been told to go all out to defend the Barisan Nasional (BN)-led government in the 14th General Election and make it a new year’s resolution.
Its Division chief, Datuk Yahya Hussin (photo 3rd right), who is also Sabah Deputy Chief Minister, said the Putatan UMNO members must strengthen its election machinery to ensure the victory of the party’s candidates under both its parliamentary and state constituencies.
“Set our resolution together so that BN can win the Putatan parliamentary constituency and its two state seats (Petagas and Tanjung Aru).
“We must set the resolution not only to defend BN as the government but also to increase the majority votes,” he said at the Putatan UMNO Division Election Machinery programme.
Yahya also called on the party’s election machinery to be more active in approaching voters especially between January and March. “Do not waste time. Just consider the period as the election time,” he said.
